WordPress plugin
Freesoul Deactivate Plugins PRO
When a extension is disabled for a WordPress context, its PHP code does not run there. This can also reduce extension assets, HTTP requests and database queries, with possible performance benefits on uncached pages. The effect depends on which extensions that context needs. Preview a page with selected add-ons disabled to compare behavior or investigate a possible conflict without changing the public site.

Set rules for pages, URLs and visitors
Freesoul Deactivate Plugins PRO works with rules for individual pages and blog posts, publicly queryable custom posts, post types, archives, term archives and search results. You can target custom frontend URLs, backend pages and custom backend URLs. Rules can differ for logged-in and logged-out users.
Review plugin use and activity
- Get automatic suggestions for plugins that may be unused on the frontend and backend, with checks after content updates.
- Record Ajax and Post activities to identify actions where specific plugins may need to be disabled.
- Generate automatic GTMetrix and Google PageSpeed Insights reports.
Clean up assets and WordPress services
- Clean up REST APIs, translated URLs and cron jobs, and deactivate general bloat.
- Manage options autoloading.
- Deactivate stylesheets and scripts from plugins that remain active, the theme and WordPress core.
- Import or export FDP options and use bulk actions to activate or deactivate plugins in FDP settings.
Review changes in context
Start by checking where each plugin is needed and reviewing the unused-plugin suggestions. Set rules for the relevant pages, post types, archives or URLs, then preview the result. If a conflict or unexpected behavior needs investigation, record Ajax or Post activity to see which actions may need different rules. Use the cleanup controls and performance reports to review further changes.
Plugin deactivation for mobile applies across all mobile pages. For rules on selected mobile pages, install Specific Content For Mobile, which integrates with FDP.
Installation and permalink requirements
Install and activate Freesoul Deactivate Plugins PRO, then open its settings to define loading rules and review the PRO controls. Permanent plugin deactivation supports the Day and name, Month and name and Post name permalink structures, plus custom structures ending in %postname%. Other permalink structures are unsupported for permanent deactivation. Plugins that change permalinks, such as Permalink Manager Lite, may also prevent it.
Use the preview and diagnostic tools carefully when testing changes on websites with complex frontend or backend workflows.
