Arrange documents and sync uploads
Create folders, then use drag and drop to move or copy files. You can rename files and delete files; folders must be empty before deletion and cannot be moved or renamed directly. To change a folder’s name or location, create another folder and move its files. Moving files updates matching links in standard posts and pages.
- Search for files and folders by name, or use File Name View Mode to find images in very large folders.
- Regenerate thumbnails for selected media.
- Sync files uploaded or moved through FTP with the Media Library. Sync checks the current folder, so sync subfolders separately.
- Set image ALT and TITLE attributes during upload, with settings to override the defaults.
- Organize folders with categories. Enhanced Media Library and Media Library Folders Pro categories are interchangeable.
The plugin also supports Advanced Custom Fields and multisite installations.
Use folders in editing and shop workflows
With the MLF integration, editors can select and add images to posts and pages from the folder view. Create MaxGalleria and NextGEN galleries directly from MLF folders, or add images to a WooCommerce product gallery.
Control access to selected media
The Pro edition’s Block Direct Access capability includes controls for protecting media files, displaying a customized no-access page, blocking Google Search from indexing media files, and preventing hotlinking. Other options restrict Media Library access, disable copy and right-click actions, generate and limit private URLs, and restrict private URLs by IP address.
Activate Block Direct Access from its tab in the Pro settings. Activation creates a protected-content folder. On Apache websites, it also updates the website’s .htaccess file to make that folder inaccessible to internet visitors. Nginx and IIS sites require manual server-configuration changes.
