Payment Gateway of PayPal for WooCommerce Pro connects a WooCommerce store with PayPal Express Checkout and Smart Checkout. Customers can start a payment from the cart or checkout page; Pro also adds PayPal buttons to individual product pages and the mini-cart. Payment settings include PayPal funds, PayPal Credit, credit and debit cards, available Pay Later offers, and alternative methods supported by PayPal.
Why displayed payment methods may vary
Smart Checkout can detect a customer's country or device and display methods available for that context, including local options where supported. Listed alternatives include Bancontact, BLIK, eps, iDEAL, MyBank, Pay upon Invoice, and Przelewy24. Guest card checkout lets customers pay by card through PayPal without leaving the site. In-Context checkout keeps customers inside the store during checkout.
Choose where checkout starts
Product-page buttons let customers start PayPal checkout from an individual product page, while mini-cart buttons provide another place to begin payment. Shortcode support lets you add the PayPal Express button. Administrators can select which PayPal payment options customers see and adjust Smart Checkout button options such as label, color, shape, layout, size, and position. A specific PayPal locale and an Express Checkout cancel page URL can also be set.
Manage payments and orders
- Capture an authorized payment later through PayPal.
- Process full or partial refunds from the WooCommerce order administration page.
- Support WooCommerce Subscriptions and Subscriptions for WooCommerce by ThemeHigh.
Store settings also include PayPal Standard, an invoice prefix for identifying store orders, and an option to skip the order review page.
Set up the payment options
Install and activate the plugin on the WordPress website running WooCommerce. Open its payment settings, connect and configure the PayPal checkout options, then choose the payment methods and button presentation for the store. Enable the Pro capabilities you need and test the checkout flow before making it available to customers.
