XPoster sends WordPress updates to Bluesky, Mastodon, and X. Customizable status templates prepare messages for posts, pages, and custom post types when they are updated or edited. Custom template tags let you shape the status text for each item. XPoster Pro adds account, timing, and content controls to this process.
Choose accounts and timing
- Authors can set up their own social accounts in their WordPress profiles.
- Send updates to site accounts and author accounts at the same time.
- Delay status updates or manage a publishing schedule.
- Automatically schedule updates from older posts.
Select content and media
- Preview and send status updates for comments.
- Filter updates by category, tag, or custom taxonomy.
- Upload images with alt attributes for social updates.
- Use integrated Card support and Player Cards with integrated captions where supported.
Other XPoster options
The base add-on can use post tags as hashtags, substitute alternate URLs for post permalinks, and send data to Google Analytics. It also works with XMLRPC remote clients and external URL shorteners including YOURLS, Bitly, jotURL, and Hum. Rate limiting helps manage X.com API limits.
Set up a publishing workflow
Install XPoster Pro in your WordPress site, then open its administration options to connect social accounts and configure status templates. Review author profile settings if authors will use their own accounts. Choose timing, taxonomy, media, Card, and older-post options for the workflow. Before relying on scheduled publishing, preview an update and confirm the intended account and message.
