Readers search and browse
Visitors can use the live search bar to find documentation as they type. Pro adds advanced search layouts and options to showcase popular documents. Categories can use an advanced list view or a drag-and-drop grid view. For longer articles, add a Table of Contents or Sticky Table of Contents; single documents can also display estimated reading time.
Site owners organize access
Create multiple knowledge bases for various products or documentation groups within one WordPress site. Manage roles for knowledge base customers and assign access accordingly. This can keep internal resources separate from public customer help.
Documents carry more context
Add attachments to a single document when readers need supplementary material, or embed related documents to connect supporting information. Glossaries explain frequently used terms and technical language with tooltips. Glossary or documentation content can also be displayed alphabetically.
Teams personalize and maintain the help center
Ready-made templates cover documentation landing pages, single documents and archive pages. Customize the documentation layout with built-in theme options, shortcodes, Elementor widgets, Gutenberg blocks and patterns. BetterDocs is compatible with Elementor, WPML and Full Site Editing.
CSV and XML import and export support documentation migration and backup workflows. BetterDocs can also migrate a knowledge base from Help Scout. Analytics-focused functions help you review documentation performance, visitor behavior and popular documents.
