When should comments load?
Choose normal loading, loading on scroll, loading when scrolling starts, or loading after a visitor clicks. Pro includes the On Scroll Start option and separate loading settings for mobile and desktop. You can also prevent automatic loading, use a custom comment button class, and manage comment-count behavior.
Where can discussions appear?
Use the [js-disqus] shortcode to place comments at a chosen point in a post or page. The add-on supports custom post types and lets you adjust the Disqus container width. WooCommerce support works without breaking the review tab, and Easy Digital Downloads is supported too.
How can users find comments?
Show a comment count on a button, choose from built-in button styles, or add the Disqus Comments widget. The Disqus Popular Comments widget can display popular conversations.
Which scripts can you control?
You can disable the count.js script when it is not needed and remove Disqus scripts from selected custom post types. Disqus loading can also be disabled automatically, with comment counts controlled separately.
What other Disqus functions are supported?
Disqus Conditional Load supports importing existing comments and syncing comments between the Disqus and WordPress databases. Disqus capabilities include threaded discussions and replies, email notifications and replies, subscriptions and RSS, aggregated comments and social mentions, moderation tools, spam filtering, blacklists and whitelists, and community widgets.
How do you set it up?
Deactivate the official Disqus extension before activating Disqus Conditional Load, since running both can cause a fatal error. Install Disqus Conditional Load in WordPress, install the Pro version, connect the site to Disqus, then open the plugin settings to choose loading behavior and configure device, button, and widget options. Add the shortcode where comments should appear. Pro users can contact support by email for priority support.
