How Does Comet Cache Pro Cache WordPress Pages?
Comet Cache Pro saves snapshots of supported WordPress pages, posts, categories, links, archives, and feeds. When a request is eligible and a usable cache file exists, the extension can serve that file instead of repeating database connections and PHP processing. This reduces repeated server work for content that has not changed.
Reuse cached WordPress content

Cache behavior is configured in the options panel. By default, cached pages are not served to logged-in customers or recent commenters. Administrative and login pages, POST, PUT, and DELETE requests, GET requests with query strings, and CLI processes are also excluded. Pro adds an option to cache logged-in users, which can be useful on membership sites.
Choose when the cache clears
Configure automatic and intelligent clearing for posts, pages, custom post types, categories, tags, links, themes, users, and other supported content. You can also clear a specified list of custom URLs, run custom PHP when the cache is cleared, and grant cache-clearing permissions by role or capability. Import and export configuration documents, set an automatic expiration time, and use a dynamic version salt to customize the caching engine.
The admin bar can include an improved Clear Cache button, which you can enable or disable. Dashboard notifications about automatic clearing can also be disabled.
Review cache activity and server options
Cache Statistics show the status of the website cache. Pro adds statistics and charts for the page cache, HTML Compressor cache, PHP OPCache, and server health. Server Load Monitoring uses a maximum load average to prevent cache regeneration while the server is very busy.
Other Pro options include Mobile Mode for multiple cache versions on adaptive sites, caching for 404 requests, RSS, RDF, and Atom feeds, and wildcard exclusion patterns for URIs, user agents, and HTTP referrers. The HTML Compressor can combine and compress CSS, JavaScript, and HTML. The Auto-Cache Engine pre-caches the website at 15-minute intervals. Static CDN filters can serve some or all static files through a chosen CDN, with support for multiple CDN host names, domain sharding, and WordPress multisite networks.
Apache options cover GZIP compression, browser caching, canonical URL enforcement, and other server adjustments. Comet Cache Pro also supports WP-CLI, ManageWP, and InfiniteWP, and includes an advanced cache-extension system for theme and plugin developers. Its automatic updater can update Pro from the WordPress dashboard.
Install Comet Cache Pro
Comet Cache Pro is self-contained and does not require Comet Cache Lite. If Lite is installed, deactivate and delete it first. In WordPress, go to Dashboard > Plugins > Add New, choose Upload Plugin, choose the Comet Cache Pro ZIP file, and install it. Activate the plugin, then open Dashboard > Comet Cache > Plugin Options > Enable/Disable and enable Comet Cache. The listed minimum requirements are PHP 5.4+ and Apache 2.1+, in addition to the WordPress requirements.
