VideoPress in a WordPress workflow
Jetpack Complete includes VideoPress, a customizable video player and hosted library for publishing video within WordPress. Upload from the WordPress Editor with the Jetpack VideoPress Block or add a local file to the VideoPress cloud library. Visitors can play videos on the site in an ad-free player.
VideoPress suits videographers, filmmakers, educators, bloggers, and other website owners publishing lessons, films, demonstrations, interviews, presentations, or blog videos.
Storage and upload limits
The paid plan supports unlimited videos and up to 1 TB of total storage. Each file can be up to 5 GB. Slower network connections may time out before a large upload finishes.
Playback and access
- A video CDN delivers hosted video to audiences in different locations.
- Playback supports up to full 4K, including 1440p and 60 FPS video display.
- Adaptive streaming adjusts quality based on bandwidth and display size. Viewers can also select a quality in the player menu.
- Text tracks in the VideoPress block support subtitles, captions, and chapters.
- Privacy options and poster images help control how a video is presented.
- Viewers can use picture-in-picture playback. The seekbar color adapts to scenes in the video.
- Playback is optimized for mobile and desktop viewing.
Library and team management
The VideoPress Dashboard includes a central place to manage the video collection, filter it by rating or privacy setting, and view the library in multiple ways. Unlimited logins let teams work with the same site's video library without per-seat access charges.
From upload to publication
Install and activate Jetpack on the WordPress site, then use the Jetpack Complete plan with VideoPress included. Open the VideoPress tools and upload a local video to the cloud library. Add it to a page or post through the media workflow or the Jetpack VideoPress Block. Add text tracks when subtitles, captions, or chapters are needed, and configure available player, privacy, and poster image settings before publishing.
