WordPress plugin
Specific Content For Mobile Pro for Device-Specific Content
Specific Content For Mobile Pro lets you prepare content for mobile visitors while keeping the page or post’s public URL unchanged. The plugin selects desktop or mobile content based on the user’s device, without redirecting visitors or generating AMP markup. Responsive design is usually the starting point; a separate mobile version can help when a page needs different wording or structure on mobile.

Create a mobile version
In the WordPress admin area, open Pages and find the item to adapt. Choose Create mobile version from its action links, or use the plus icon in the devices column. Edit the mobile version and save it. Follow the same steps under Posts for a blog post.
Logged-in visitors can access an additional mobile-version URL for testing. Logged-out visitors use the original public URL, which shows desktop content on desktop devices and the mobile version on mobile devices.
Set mobile behavior
Pro adds controls for how your website handles mobile visitors:
- Create mobile versions for all supported queriable post types.
- Load a different theme on mobile devices or unload selected add-ons only on mobile.
- Choose whether tablets are treated as mobile devices.
- Use a different navigation on mobile and write content for specific devices.
- Access premium support.
Review metadata and caching
Post metadata is synchronized between desktop and mobile versions by default. In the settings, you can allow mobile versions to have their own metadata. Options for popular SEO extensions let you select their metadata synchronization behavior.
If your site uses server caching, configure separate cache handling for mobile devices. Otherwise, cached mobile content could also appear to desktop visitors. Use mobile cache controls where your caching plugin offers them, and do not configure mobile redirects for this plugin.
Theme and developer support
Custom mobile templates can go in wp-content/themes/theme-name/scfm/ or wp-content/scfm/. The plugin checks the theme’s scfm folder first, then the shared wp-content/scfm/ folder. For blog pages, a theme must declare support for the mobile version; without that support, the blog page may retain its desktop content.
Developer hooks cover metadata synchronization with other plugins and theme support for blog content. The helper functions eos_scfm_related_desktop_id() and eos_scfm_related_mobile_id() return the related desktop or mobile post ID.
