xSpeed Pro WordPress Performance Plugin

xSpeed Pro brings WordPress page caching, code and asset optimization, database tools, and site analysis into one performance extension. Its AI-powered audit scans the site and identifies capabilities to review, with severity ratings and concrete reasons.

Serve cached pages before WordPress loads

The add-on saves pages as static HTML documents. On a cache hit, its rewrite path serves the file before WordPress loads, bypassing PHP. The path works with Apache, nginx, and LiteSpeed. The cache can rebuild after publishing a post, updating a plugin, switching themes, or other listed site changes.

  • Set cache expiry from 1 to 720 hours and keep a separate cache for mobile visitors.
  • Define cache rules and custom expiry for individual posts, or disable caching for a post.
  • Exclude URLs such as cart, checkout, and account pages, and purge the cache from the WordPress admin bar.
  • For WooCommerce, logged-in clients and checkout pages are not cached.

Use the audit to select settings

xSpeed Pro's AI audit examines the specific site and reports which performance functions may help, along with severity ratings and reasons. Its optimization tool measures the site, applies recommended settings one at a time, checks the page after each change, and reverts a change if it breaks the site.

Adjust code, delivery, and database settings

Minification removes unnecessary whitespace, comments, and characters from HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Other code controls can combine CSS and JavaScript files, defer or delay JavaScript, and load CSS asynchronously. The plugin also includes GZIP compression, lazy loading for images, videos, and iframes, font optimization, and browser caching with Cache-Control and Expires headers.

Object caching supports Redis or Memcached. CDN options include pull-zone URL rewriting and a Cloudflare integration. Database tools can optimize tables, remove revisions, spam, trash, transients, and orphaned metadata, and schedule cleanup. You can also disable WordPress features that a site does not need, including frontend Dashicons, oEmbed, RSS feeds, XML-RPC, jQuery Migrate, and REST API authentication headers.

Manage performance tools through MCP

The WordPress MCP server lets an AI assistant or other MCP client use xSpeed's performance tools, including cache purging, preloader status checks, score runs, optimization, and settings reads or updates. Read-only connections remain read-only. Credential writing requires explicit permission when connecting. WP-CLI commands cover cache purging, preloader status, score runs, optimization, and listing, viewing, or updating settings.

Configure and test the site

Install xSpeed Pro on the WordPress site you want to optimize, then review its performance settings and audit results. Start with caching and the recommendations that fit the site. Use the scoring and optimization tools to evaluate changes, and configure exclusions for pages that should not be cached.
