Use page caching and multisite support
When page caching is enabled, Clearfy saves front-end page content as static HTML files on the server. Depending on the settings and HTTP request, a matching request can receive a stored file instead of having WordPress, its add-ons, and the database generate the page. Clearfy Premium includes this caching function and support for WordPress multisite networks. Review the cache configuration after enabling it.
Choose controls by task
- Performance: Minify HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, configure critical CSS and deferred scripts or styles, and manage page caching.
- Code cleanup: Disable selected output such as RSS feeds, emojis, embeds, and metadata links.
- Search settings: Adjust robots.txt and remove selected archive or attachment pages that can create duplicate content.
- Administration: Manage comments, notices, widgets, revisions, Heartbeat API activity, and WordPress, add-on, and theme updates.
- Security and privacy settings: Change settings such as version information, login error messages, and XML-RPC behavior.
- Assets: Selectively disable plugin or theme scripts and styles where they are not needed.
Check for overlapping plugin settings
Similar functions in different extensions can conflict. Choose which plugin will handle each task and disable the intersecting Clearfy setting when another plugin already provides it. The documented Autoptimize example recommends turning off Clearfy’s HTML Compression when Autoptimize handles file combining and minification.
Install and recover
Install Clearfy Premium on the WordPress site or network, activate it from the Plugins screen, then open Settings > Clearfy - disable unused functions. Review the options and enable those that suit the site; check the page-caching configuration after turning it on.
If activation causes an error or blank screen, deactivate the plugin through the WordPress dashboard when it is accessible. If the dashboard cannot be reached, remove the plugin through FTP. Review overlapping settings before reactivating individual functions.
Cache status
Clearfy Cache is no longer under active development and is being retired in favor of Super Page Cache. The status of Clearfy Premium is not specified.
