Profile WordPress requests on the server
Code Profiler Pro measures PHP activity in WordPress frontend and backend requests. Charts and tables report performance by extension and theme, with further detail on the scripts, classes, methods, and functions involved. This server-side view helps you locate where a slow feature needs investigation; browser page speed utilities assess a rendered page from the visitor’s perspective.
Select a request to profile
Install and activate the add-on, open the Code Profiler menu in WordPress, then select the area or process to examine. You can profile a frontend or backend request, a cron event, or a custom URL. GET and POST methods, custom cookies, and HTTP headers let you set request conditions for processes such as contact forms, checkout processes, and AJAX actions.
Inspect code and related activity
Pro profiles PHP scripts, methods, and functions, and reports database query performance and remote connections. You can also review file I/O operations and statistics, disk I/O usage, and filter results to focus on relevant entries.
Review and export profile results
Export charts as PNG images. Pro can export tables and charts in CSV format, and WP-CLI integration includes another way to work with the profiler. After a plugin or theme update, run another profile and compare the results with earlier findings.
Requirements and access
The stated requirements are WordPress 5.0 or later and PHP 7.1 or 8.x. Code Profiler supports multisite installations, where only the superadmin can run it for security reasons. It does not collect private data from you or your users and does not use cookies. The plugin can remain active between profiling sessions; product information states that it has no performance impact when idle.
