Choose what appears in your widget areas

Essential Widgets Pro adds widgets for categories, menus, posts, and tags to WordPress. Add them to the widget areas your theme provides, then set the content and presentation settings for each display.

Category and tag settings

The Categories widget lets you set a title and taxonomy, select an order, and control how many categories and posts appear. You can sort categories, choose whether to display them as a list, choose a feed type, and display them as text or images.

The Tags widget shows tags as a cloud or a list. Set the order, sorting, and number of items, then adjust the unit, separator, search, and text type.

Menus and posts

The Menus widget places a menu in a widget area, giving selected links and site sections another place in your layout. Where it can appear depends on the widget areas provided by your theme.

The Posts widget displays a list of posts. Its settings include a title, post type, entry count, order, and sorting, so you can choose what appears and how the list is arranged.

Other widgets in the collection

The wider Essential Widgets collection also includes Archives, Authors, and Pages widgets. The Archives widget has settings for its title, post limit, archive type, post type, and order. The Authors widget can show an author list, post counts, and a selected feed type. The Pages widget can list important pages with configurable options.

These options can help visitors browse a content-heavy website by category or tag, find more posts, or reach selected pages and menu links.

Installation and setup

Install Essential Widgets Pro in WordPress, add the supported widgets to the widget areas where you want them, and choose each widget’s content and ordering options. Enter a title where needed, save the settings, then review the display and adjust its available options to fit your layout.
