WordPress plugin
EXMAGE - WordPress Image Links Pro
EXMAGE - WordPress Image Links Pro lets WordPress and WooCommerce use image files hosted at external URLs. The files stay at their external location, while the extension adds attachment entries with IDs to the Media Library. An icon distinguishes these entries from regular attachments.

Where you can use external attachments
- Post featured images.
- WooCommerce product featured images and product galleries.
- Variation images.
- Product category images.
- Other locations that accept images selected from the WordPress Media Library.
Adding image URLs
Use the Upload files tab in the Media Library to add one image URL. To add multiple URLs, use the area below the file upload section on the Upload New Media page.
URL processing can return the submitted URL, an additional message, a success or error status, and the attachment ID. When a new attachment is added or an existing one is found, the result can also include an edit link.
URL requirements and add-on dependency
Use real image URLs with a correct image MIME type. EXMAGE does not support image URLs from services such as Flickr, Imgur, or Photobucket, or file storage services such as Google Drive. External images added through the plugin stop working if it is inactive, so keep it active on websites that use these attachments.
ALD integration
With EXMAGE active alongside the ALD plugin, the ALD options include a Use external links for images option under Products. Enable it to let ALD-imported AliExpress products use their original AliExpress image URLs for featured images, galleries, and variation images instead of saving those image files to your server.
Installation and use
Install and activate EXMAGE. Open the Media Library or the Upload New Media page and add valid external image URLs using the supported single or multiple URL workflow. Then choose each attachment wherever WordPress or WooCommerce supports a featured image, gallery image, variation image, or product category image.
