Open Graphite Pro for WordPress Social Previews
Open Graphite Pro controls the title, description, image and object type used to build a social preview for WordPress content. You can shape how a shared link appears while keeping the original page or post unchanged.
Sharing details stay separate from page content
Open Graphite Pro controls the title, description, image and object type used to build a social preview for WordPress content. You can shape how a shared link appears while keeping the original page or post unchanged.
Homepage options and per-post choices
Set the homepage title, description, image and object type in the extension settings, then select which post types to enable. For an individual post or page, use the Open Graphite metabox to enter sharing details manually or draw on its existing title, text or excerpt, featured image and object type. You can also control which user roles can access the metabox.
Pro defaults extend across content types
Open Graphite Pro includes automatic defaults for titles, descriptions, featured pictures and object types, along with character limits for titles and descriptions. It supports WooCommerce products and product categories, and can make Facebook-ready image crops at 1200 × 630 pixels. The Media Library includes an Open Graph Sizes tab for those images. An admin column provides Open Graph quality indicators.
Platform options and preview checks
Review mobile and desktop previews for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn before publishing or updating content. Settings also include an X (Twitter) username and card type. Pinterest options let you allow saving, disable rich pins or deny saving. Enhanced Slack sharing can include the author name and reading time.
Additional Open Graph options include image alt text, updated time, article dates, author URL and locale tags. The extension provides an Open Graph check tool and links to platform testing tools.
Facebook cache updates and tag conflicts
Open Graphite can ask Facebook to refresh its cached copy when a published post is saved. This requires a Facebook App ID and App Secret in the plugin settings; the post URL and an app access token are sent to Facebook's Graph API. Social networks may keep cached Open Graph details for 24 hours or longer, so previews may not update immediately.
If Yoast SEO or Jetpack also outputs Open Graph tags, Open Graphite has settings to turn off their output. Other extensions may create duplicate tags; check the page source for repeated og: entries and disable one source if a conflict is present.
Setup and support
Install and activate the plugin, configure the homepage and enabled post types, then manage individual sharing details in the Open Graphite metabox. Open Graphite Pro includes one-on-one priority support for license holders.
