WordPress plugin
PDF Embedder Premium
PDF Embedder Premium places documents inside posts, pages, and custom post types so visitors can read them on the page. The responsive viewer uses the PDF's natural dimensions or a width you pick, then adjusts to the available space as the browser changes size. Readers can move between pages with Next and Previous controls or zoom in to inspect details.
Read PDFs in your WordPress content
PDF Embedder Premium places documents inside posts, pages, and custom post types so visitors can read them on the page. The responsive viewer uses the PDF's natural dimensions or a width you pick, then adjusts to the available space as the browser changes size. Readers can move between pages with Next and Previous controls or zoom in to inspect details.
Use it for menus, price lists, ebooks, guides, reports, product catalogs, brochures, newsletters, manuals, course materials, event programs, portfolios, and other PDF resources. Choose a file from the Media Library or another folder on your site. A remotely hosted document can also be embedded with a direct link to the PDF file, if its host allows other sites to fetch it. You can embed unlimited PDFs across your content.
Add and configure a PDF viewer
In the Block Editor, add the PDF Embedder block, choose a document, and preview it while editing. In the Classic Editor or a page builder, add the shortcode. PDF Embedder Premium also includes an Elementor widget with the block's settings and a live preview in the Elementor editor. Set shared defaults such as viewer width and toolbar position in the plugin settings; block and shortcode options can override them for individual PDFs.
Visitors use the toolbar to navigate pages and zoom. Premium includes a download button, working links within the PDF and to other pages, continuous scrolling, a jump-to-page control, and full-text search. View and download tracking helps you see which documents visitors read.
Mobile reading and plan options
On smaller screens, Premium can show a prominent full-screen viewing option when the document renders narrower than the width you set. Opening it gives the PDF the focus of the mobile browser, where readers can swipe between pages.
The Pro plan adds secure viewing, which encrypts the PDF during transmission and makes the original file difficult for casual visitors to save or print. Pro also works with watermarks with text such as a logged-in user's name or email address, which can discourage sharing of screenshots. These options can be used on pages protected by membership or e-commerce extensions.
The Elite plan adds automatic PDF thumbnails for presenting documents in libraries, collections, or listings.
Use PDFs in member pages and courses
The block and shortcode work inside content managed by membership, e-commerce, and course plugins. Embed reports or ebooks on pages protected by MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro, or WooCommerce Memberships. Add handouts and workbooks to LearnDash, LifterLMS, or Tutor LMS courses. You can also place several PDFs on one page as a document library, show a sample chapter on a product page, or deliver a full ebook after purchase through your chosen WordPress process.
Set up an embed
Upload a PDF to the Media Library or copy the direct URL of a hosted PDF. Add the PDF Embedder block to a post or page and select the document, or use the shortcode in the Classic Editor or a page builder. Adjust the display settings, then publish. Configure shared defaults in the PDF Embedder settings and enable the plan capabilities needed for your documents.
