Set access for members and content
Organize access with member user levels and custom capabilities. Rules can cover an entire website, selected posts or pages, categories, tags, custom post types, URLs, and other content served by WordPress. Shortcodes can also protect specific portions of posts, pages, themes, and plugins. These controls can support subscription areas, courses, client portals, communities, and paid downloads.
- Sell unlimited memberships through one-time payments or recurring subscriptions, or sell access to specific posts and pages.
- Use content dripping to release membership material over time.
- Protect downloadable files and streaming audio or video. Store files locally or use the Amazon S3 and CloudFront integrations.
- Automatically demote access when paid access time ends.
- Limit IP addresses and simultaneous logins to help prevent account sharing, and limit failed login attempts.
Shortcodes cover standard configuration without requiring PHP; developers can also tailor an installation with PHP.
Pro checkout and payment options
Pro supports Stripe, PayPal Pro, Authorize.Net, and ClickBank. Its pro-forms provide on-site, one-step checkout for Stripe, PayPal, and Authorize.Net, including single-step registration and payment. Site owners can configure payment redirections, membership renewal reminder emails, coupon codes, and gift or redemption codes.
Manage members and connect services
Pro includes unlimited membership levels, a public members directory, and tools to bulk import, update, and export members. Login and registration forms can be placed in posts or pages. Additional options include custom member offer redirects after login, profile fields, welcome emails, and notifications for signups and payments.
s2Member supports tracking software and email list services such as Mailchimp. It can integrate with bbPress and BuddyPress for community sites, and is compatible with themes including Elementor and Divi. Login and registration appearance and post-login redirects can also be customized.
Install and configure
Install the s2Member Framework in WordPress and enable the Pro edition. Choose which content to protect and assign member levels or capabilities, then configure payment forms, registration, redirects, and notifications as needed. Test registration, payment, access restrictions, and protected downloads before opening the membership area.
For a Multisite network, enable Multisite Networking with the Framework and Pro active, then open s2Member → Multisite (Config) on the main site. This setup requires s2Member Pro for Unlimited Sites.
