Manage taxonomies and terms
Create taxonomies and edit their settings, visual labels, and parent-child relationships. Assign taxonomies to different post types, such as making Categories available on Pages or assigning WooCommerce Tags to Posts. Term utilities let you add, rename, remove, merge, or delete terms, including unused terms.
Assign configured terms from content
Auto Terms checks post titles and content for specified terms, then can add matching terms to a post. Choose the taxonomy, post types, and terms to use. You can process existing content or have new content scanned. Using all the terms in a very large taxonomy may slow processing, especially on a slow server, so test that setup carefully.
Suggest terms for editorial review
You can scan posts to get suggestions based on terms already on your site, or browse all existing terms in a taxonomy. Pro also includes AI integrations with OpenAI, IBM Watson, and more. These external services scan content and can suggest existing or new terms. Configure the service connection, review the suggestions, and apply the terms that fit your taxonomy.
Link term mentions and related terms
Auto Links finds instances of a term in content and links them to that term’s archive page. Term Synonyms associates multiple words with one main term; when a synonym is found during a scan, it is treated as the main term. Add synonyms from a term’s screen. Linked Terms connects terms so that adding a main term to a post also adds its linked terms.
Display taxonomy terms and related posts
Terms Display makes a customizable list or cloud of terms from one taxonomy. Terms for Current Post shows the terms assigned to a post with customizable output, separately from the theme’s default term display. Related Posts shows posts with shared taxonomy terms; posts with more terms in common are more likely to appear. These displays can be used in a shortcode or widget, or added to content automatically where supported.
Configure taxonomies, terms, term assignment, links, suggestions, and displays in the extension settings. If you use AI integrations, configure the external service connection before requesting suggestions. The Pro version includes extra capabilities and expert support.
