Terms, triggers and tooltip content

Create tooltip terms and compose their content in the administration area with the standard WordPress editor. Content can include text, images, audio, video, buttons, social icons, PDFs or other HTML. Use tooltips to explain terms in articles, add details to products, guide visitors around forms, or provide information about images and navigation items.

Automatic detection can match configured terms in posts, pages, tags, menus, products, comments, WooCommerce descriptions, ACF fields and other supported areas. Settings can apply a tooltip to the first matching term or to every match on a page. You can also add synonyms, limit matching to a category or use a term across the website. Shortcodes give you more direct placement: the available formats associate a keyword with content, wrap selected text, or reference a tooltip by ID for page-builder layouts.

Display settings and integrations

The Pro and Pro Plus feature set includes more than 20 add-ons and over 400 configuration options. Settings cover tooltip colors, typography, animation, position, matching behavior and other show details. Options also let you disable tooltips on mobile devices or enable access with the Tab key.

Tooltips can use photos, video, audio, maps, QR codes, GIFs, PDFs, YouTube, SoundCloud and Wikipedia previews. The listed integrations include Elementor, Gutenberg, Brizy, WooCommerce, ACF, Polylang, WPForms, TablePress, Contact Form 7, pricing tables, BuddyPress and bbPress. With supported gallery add-ons such as NextGEN, tooltips can appear on gallery image descriptions.

For WooCommerce content, tooltips can accompany product titles, descriptions, attributes, tags, additional information, galleries and custom product fields. Tooltip content can include product details, galleries or Add to Cart buttons, and the directory capabilities can list products.

Glossaries and directories

Add the [glossary] shortcode to a page to display tooltip terms as a dictionary-style list. Glossary options include images, alphabetical navigation, multilingual support and SEO-friendly index pages. Directory shortcodes can display WooCommerce products, job listings from WP Job Manager, members or posts. The feature list also describes directories built from custom post types or MySQL tables.

Setup process

Install and activate the paid edition in the WordPress administration area. Create tooltip terms, add their content in the editor, and configure the display settings. Use automatic term detection for supported content or add a shortcode where you want a tooltip or directory to appear. Test the selected placements on posts, products, menus, forms or other relevant areas before publishing.
