Ultimate Markdown Pro lets you create posts from Markdown files or files in its internal library, and convert pasted or typed Markdown in the post editor. Its panels appear in the Block Editor sidebar and as meta boxes in the Classic Editor.

Import Markdown into posts

Choose Import Markdown to upload a file, Load Markdown to use a document in the library, or Insert Markdown to convert text entered in the editor. Pro adds import options and automatic image uploads during import.

Organize and export documents

Use the dedicated add-on menu to create, edit, and organize Markdown documents. Markdown Tools can bulk import one or more files into the library. Documents created in the plugin can be exported as downloadable files or ZIP archives. Pro adds more export options and document categories.

Configure conversion and automation

Plugin options let you select the Markdown parser used in the editor panels and document preview. Pro includes seven parser options and REST API support for automation. The plugin works with YAML Front Matter key-value pairs at the beginning of a Markdown document to configure post settings through available keys; Pro extends this support.

Get started

After installing and activating the plugin, open the post editor to import a file, load a library document, or insert Markdown text. Use the document menu to manage files, and Markdown Options to configure parser settings and other options.
