Magic Post Thumbnail PRO generates images for posts as featured images or inside post content. It combines image searches, AI image models, local images, fallback choices, and WordPress editing processes so you can create or assign visuals from the post editor, posts list, Gutenberg, bulk actions, imports, and scheduled crons.

The PRO edition expands the ways the add-on can understand a post before selecting or generating an image. In addition to the title or text analysis available for searches, it can use tags, categories, custom fields, custom requests, and the OpenAI keyword extractor. These inputs are useful when a title alone does not provide enough direction for the desired image.

Sources and fallback workflows

You can select from photo sources including Unsplash and the other available image services, as well as AI sources such as Stable Diffusion, Replicate, Ideogram, Flux 2, Gemini (Nano Banana), and Grok. The add-on works with a fallback chain: if the first selected source fails, it tries the next source in the chain. You can also use the first image already in a post or a default fallback image.

AI sources can use optional style presets, including photorealistic, cinematic, and “no text.” The plugin can optionally add a title or logo bar to a generated file. This overlay is off by default. PRO also provides image modifications for flipping an image horizontally or cropping it by 10%.

The Gutenberg block provides more results in PRO, while scheduled crons and import compatibility help extend image generation beyond individual editing sessions. Compatibility listed for the PRO edition includes REST, WPeMatico, FeedWordPress, WP All Import, Featured Image from URL, CMB2, ACF, and Meta Box. Restricted domains and a proxy are also available.

Installation and practical use

Install Magic Post Thumbnail PRO in WordPress, then choose an image process suited to your content. From a post, select the generation action, choose the relevant source or fallback chain, and use the available search inputs. For larger collections, use bulk actions, taxonomy generation, imports, or a customisable cron. Generated images can be assigned as featured images or inserted into post content, depending on the selected image location.

Before wider use, the dashboard health check and one-click test generation can help review the setup. PRO also includes priority support with replies within 24 hours.
