Organize WordPress Content with FileBird Pro

FileBird Pro organizes WordPress media and other content in folders in the dashboard. Its virtual media folders leave file permalinks unchanged when you move files between folders.

Virtual folder behavior

FileBird folders change how uploads are categorized in the dashboard. They do not change a media file’s permalink or replace the WordPress uploads path.

Manage the media folder tree

Create folders and subfolders, drag uploads into a folder, bulk-move existing files, or choose a destination folder when uploading. The collapsible sidebar keeps the folder tree available as you work. Right-click a folder to make a subfolder, rename it, set its color, cut, paste, or delete it.

Organize posts, pages, and store content

The free version supports one-level folders for posts and pages. FileBird Pro adds multi-level folders for both and folder support for WooCommerce products, coupons, and other custom post types. With visitor-based folder view enabled, users can create their own categories or directories without changing another user’s folder structure.

Find and sort files

Search file and folder names in the media library or while browsing images in the page or post editor. Pro includes two folder-sorting methods and ten file-sorting methods, including sorting by file size. Choose Dropbox or Windows 11 styling for folder icons, set a specific startup folder or reopen the last-used folder, and locate or move a file from its details modal.

Export and migrate folder structures

Download a media folder as a ZIP file with its subfolders and files in the same structure. You can also export the full WordPress media folder structure for migration or backup. FileBird Pro can import and synchronize folder structures from Enhanced Media Library, WP Media Folder by JoomUnited, WordPress Media Library Folders by Max Foundry, Real Media Library, and HappyFiles.

Start organizing in WordPress

Install and activate FileBird Pro, then open the WordPress media management area. Create folders or subfolders and drag existing uploads into place, or choose a destination folder when uploading. Use the import, synchronization, and export tools when you need to bring in or preserve a folder structure.
