Choose update types and timing

Updater Pro manages update searches and actions for WordPress core, plugins, themes, and translation documents. Choose manual mode to start updates yourself or automatic mode to run them at a configured frequency. Select which update types to search for and apply. Settings are designed for setup without code changes or FTP access. The Pro version includes the free version’s capabilities, with added controls for exclusions, backups, Envato products, and WordPress core updates.

Set rules for automatic updates

Exclude selected add-ons and themes from automatic updates, including inactive entries. You can also disable automatic updates for WordPress core when you need to manage core updates separately. Updater Pro works with products purchased on Envato.

Scheduled work follows site activity

Update searches and actions run when the website is active. If the site has no activity at the scheduled time, the work waits until activity resumes, so the actual timing can shift.

Back up files and database tables

Before applying updates, Updater Pro can create file and database backups. Backup options include all folders and all tables. Enable automatic deletion to remove old backups.

Configure email notifications

Set a recipient address and tailor the “FROM” field for notifications about available versions and after updates. Notifications depend on the WordPress site’s and server’s email configuration. When no updates are available, no update notification is sent. If email is not delivered, check the add-on settings and configure SMTP if needed.

Language support and setup

The plugin is multilingual and RTL ready. Listed translations include Russian, Ukrainian, French, Italian, Arabic, German, and Spanish; some may be incomplete. Install and activate Updater Pro in WordPress, then open its settings to choose update types, mode, frequency, notifications, exclusions, and backup options. Documentation and installation videos are available. When requesting support, provide the affected page, plugin name and version, WordPress version, and system status report; include the order number when using Pro.
