Visitors can find documents

Document Library Pro is a WordPress document library and download manager. Visitors can search files, sort table columns, filter by category and download files directly. Show every document or focus a library on a category or status. The instant AJAX search box helps users find files, while search-on-click filters the library when they select a category.

Supported file types include PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, OpenDocument formats, images, videos and Apple document formats. Add information to each document and select which details appear in the library.

Libraries can display selected details

Searchable, sortable tables arrange documents in rows. Essentials and Advanced plans add grid layout settings. Collapsible folders can group a collection into sections or categories.

Columns can show the file name, title, image, content, date, categories, download button, file size, file type, excerpt, status, last modified date and author. Rename column headings to match your organization's terminology. Paid functions also support custom fields and custom taxonomies.

Administrators can add larger collections in batches

Bulk tools include drag-and-drop file upload, CSV import and importing files from the Media Library. Document Library Pro also adds a Documents section to the Media Library, so document files can be managed separately from images and other media.

Files can come from outside the Media Library

Paid plans can include documents hosted on services such as Dropbox, Google Drive and Office 365. The extension can also create an individual page for each document, showing details such as its filename and summary description before the visitor downloads it.

Access can follow passwords or visitor permissions

Protect a private library with a password or limit access to particular roles or user accounts. Apply access options globally or organize them around categories and individual libraries to present public and restricted documents in the same WordPress installation.

Place a library on a page

1. Install the paid Document Library Pro add-on on your WordPress site.
2. Add documents, file information and the corresponding uploads, or import files using the available bulk tools.
3. Configure the table or grid layout, columns, search behavior, categories and access settings.
4. Use the built-in Document Library page or place a library anywhere with the [doc_library] shortcode.

Shortcode options can override global settings, allowing different libraries to use their own display choices.
