Error Log Viewer Pro for WordPress and PHP Logs

Error Log Viewer Pro brings available PHP and WordPress error logs into the admin dashboard for review. Choose a log, search its entries, and display recent lines, a selected period, or the full file. You can also view or save part of a PHP error log as a TXT file.

Choose how to enable logging

The plugin includes three methods to enable error logging. They serve the same purpose, and enabling more than one may cause conflicts. When WP_DEBUG constants are declared in wp-config.php, that method takes priority and the other methods will not work.

  • .htaccess: Requires access to edit the file. The extension uses this method to enable PHP error logging and set the log path; other configuration settings are changed separately.
  • wp-config.php with ini_set: Uses PHP runtime settings to enable error logging and specify the log path.
  • wp-config.php with WP_DEBUG: Uses WordPress debugging constants and writes errors to wp-content/debug.log. The absolute path to this file cannot be changed.

Set the log view and notifications

Select which log to display and select whether to display its last lines, entries from a selected period, or the complete file. For a separate copy, view or save a portion of a PHP error log as TXT.

To receive email notifications about log changes, enter a recipient address and choose the notification frequency. Notifications use a scheduled WordPress event, which may not execute during the selected interval if the site is inactive. Messages can therefore arrive less often than the configured frequency.

Set up log review

Install and activate the plugin, then open its settings in the WordPress administration area. Select one logging method, configure the log monitor, and choose the display range. Set an email address and frequency if you want change notifications. If viewing or downloading a log is unavailable, check file and folder permissions.

Documentation, a visitor guide, installation help, and videos are available for configuration and use. Russian and Ukrainian translations are listed, though some translation content may be incomplete.
