Configure search for different content

Ivory Search Premium extends WordPress search with an unlimited number of custom forms, each configured separately. Add a form to a header, footer, sidebar, widget area, navigation menu, page, post, or custom post type using a shortcode or another supported placement. The WordPress customizer lets you change form colors and text and choose an available style. Your theme also affects how forms look.

Set the content and matching rules

Forms can search posts, pages, WooCommerce products, pictures, files, attachments, and other custom post types. Choose fields such as titles, content, excerpts, categories, taxonomy terms and descriptions, custom fields, metadata, and product SKUs. Premium options add WooCommerce product variations, posts by selected authors, specific post statuses, and searches based on a chosen comment count. Forms can also search approved comment content and author display names, or target posts created on a specific date.

Configure searches for password-protected posts, posts without passwords, or both. Forms can target specific files, MIME types, and media such as images, audio, video, PDFs, and files. They can also search picture and attachment titles, captions, and descriptions. Limit results to selected post types or taxonomy terms, or exclude specific content. Additional controls include stop words, synonyms, and whether results must contain all or any selected terms.

Choose how results appear

The inverted index-based search engine is designed for faster search. AJAX can show results as users enter a query, and you can convert a custom form or the default search form to AJAX search. Keyword stemming searches for a base word. Fuzzy matching can find a whole search term or words that begin or end with it. Search analytics tracks searches made on the site.

Ivory Search supports WooCommerce and multilingual search integrations including Weglot, Polylang, and WPML. It also integrates with bbPress and TablePress, and can index and search TablePress shortcode content.

Set up a form

Install and activate Ivory Search Premium on your WordPress website. Create a form, choose its content sources and search rules, then place it where visitors need it using a shortcode, widget, menu, or other supported location.
