Visitor-facing sitemaps in WordPress

Choose content and layout

Content and Grouped sitemaps can include custom post types and custom taxonomies. Set ordering, limits, and include or exclude rules for each Content Sitemap section. Taxonomy-term filters and automatic child-page exclusion let you refine what appears. Advanced responsive tab controls and horizontal layouts provide alternatives to a standard vertical list.

Optional visitor search is available for Content and Grouped sitemaps in blocks and shortcodes. It filters entries currently displayed while matching entries retain their hierarchy or topic context. When linked pagination is enabled, search covers only the current result page, not other result pages or the whole site.

Build sections from site structures

Dedicated blocks create Taxonomy Terms, Navigation Menu, Archive Links, and WooCommerce Product Sitemap sections. Additional shortcodes support child pages, taxonomy terms, and navigation menus, including the [simple-sitemap-child] shortcode for child-page sections.

Configure child-page shows

Enhanced Child Pages controls support subtree exclusions, excerpts, images, and nofollow links, including for hierarchical custom post types. Child-page sitemaps can also include optional separators and compact featured-image thumbnails.

Filter and style the output

Filter out content marked noindex by Yoast SEO, Rank Math, or SEOPress, or filter content by the current language when using WPML or Polylang. Interface controls adjust sitemap colours and presentation, and additional filters support custom development. Each sitemap instance has its own ID for independent configuration and styling when several appear on one page.

Add a sitemap to a page

Install and activate Simple Sitemap Pro through the WordPress plugin process. In the editor, add a sitemap block, choose its content source, and review the settings in the sidebar before publishing. For classic editor or page-builder projects, use the available shortcodes and configure their options.
