Social Share Icons & Social Share Buttons Premium extends the ways visitors can share WordPress content and follow social profiles. Choose the icons to show, assign actions, then decide where the buttons appear. One button can link to a social profile and offer a separate action for sharing a page.
Compare networks and designs
The free extension includes 16 design styles and icons for Facebook, Twitter, email, RSS, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Houzz, OK, Telegram, VK, WeChat, and Weibo. Its general share icon lets visitors share through more than 200 other social sites. Premium adds icon choices such as Snapchat, Yummly, Print, WhatsApp, Yelp, SoundCloud, Skype, Flickr, Share, Blogger, Digg, Reddit, Vimeo, Tumblr, Xing, Amazon, and Spotify. Some choices, including Instagram, Telegram, and VK, appear in both lists.
Premium also adds more default styles and themed designs, including cat-themed buttons. The broader add-on capability set includes animated buttons, such as automatic shuffling and mouse-over effects, and share counts.
Choose actions and placement
- Select the icons to display.
- Choose what each icon does. A button can link to a social profile and provide a separate sharing action.
- Set where the buttons appear, such as before or after posts, as floating components, in a widget, or through a shortcode.
You can select positions such as top right or bottom left, rearrange icon order, and use a single button for multiple actions. Premium adds page-specific display, sticky placement, and margin controls. It also delivers tailored tweet text, direct follow actions, and mobile display options.
Set popup, email, and subscription options
Premium includes additional lightbox and popup settings, including an option to limit how often a popup appears to the same user. Extra email icon functions provide more ways for visitors to connect. The subscription feature lets visitors receive new posts by email through a third-party feed service. Setting up the feed transmits an IP address to that service as required for the feature.
Install and configure
Install and activate the Premium plugin on your WordPress website. In its settings, choose icons first, assign their actions next, then choose placement. Review the email and subscription settings if you plan to offer those options. The plugin is compatible with the Gutenberg editor and has translations in various languages. The server must have cURL enabled for share counts and related capabilities.
