What protection covers
The add-on helps prevent other users, including administrators, from deleting selected accounts, opening their profile edit pages, changing their roles, or selecting them in bulk actions on the users list. It can also protect standard posts and pages made directly by those Administrators.
If someone reaches a protected profile through another plugin or an alternative route, the plugin prevents changes from being saved. When someone tries to change a protected Administrator's email address through the profile page, the original address is restored.
Who controls the plugin
On activation, Protect Admin PRO stores the activating user's ID. The activating Administrator retains access to the plugin, which is hidden from other users. Only that Administrator can save its settings. Protection can be turned on or off from the settings page without deactivating the plugin.
If you deactivate the plugin, users who can manage add-ons can then see it.
Logs and notifications
Attempts to edit protected Administrator accounts are logged in the database. You can access all logs and details about users who tried to modify protected accounts, not only the latest attempt. The PRO edition lets you enable or disable email notifications for account modification attempts. Recent details are available in the plugin area under Users > User Protection.
Setup and limitations
Install and activate the plugin through the WordPress admin area. The activating user becomes the controlling Administrator. Open the settings, choose the Administrator accounts to protect, and choose whether to enable email notifications. You can then review activity in the User Protection area.
Compatibility with other user-management and role-editor extensions has not been tested, and multisite use has not been tested. These combinations may not work as intended.
